چکیده

Zhengyuan Gao This paper considers the dynamic discrete game model with fixed points in the worst case and with incomplete beliefs. In the worst case, an -approximation to a fixed point does not lead to the consistent second step estimator of the parametric structural parameters. Given certain structures of the value function, we propose an alternative two-step inference algorithm. The first step is to control the complexity of the nonparametric approximation and to estimated value and policy functions under the worst case. The second step is to select a pseudo parameter that can give a -fitting and can generate an empirical log-likelihood test statistic. The hypothesis testing should accept the estimated values of structural parameters. The objective functions in both steps can reduce to linear-quadratic equations and are robust to outliers.

Discrete Choice Models for Nonmonotone Nonignorable Missing Data: Identification and Inference

Nonmonotone missing data arise routinely in empirical studies of social and health sciences, and when ignored, can induce selection bias and loss of efficiency. In practice, it is common to account for nonresponse under a missing-at-random assumption which although convenient, is rarely appropriate when nonresponse is nonmonotone. Likelihood and Bayesian missing data methodologies often require...

Dynamic modeling and control of a 4 DOF robotic finger using adaptive-robust and adaptive-neural controllers

In this research, first, kinematic and dynamic equations of a 4-DOF 3-link robotic finger are derived using Denavit-Hartenberg convention and Lagrange’s formulation. To model the muscles, several springs and dampers are placed between the finger links. Then, two advanced controllers, namely adaptive-robust and adaptive-neural, which can control the robotic finger in presence of parametric uncer...

Robust Lorenz Curves: A Semi-Parametric Approach

Lorenz curves and second-order dominance criteria are known to be sensitive to data contamination in the right tail of the distribution. We propose two ways of dealing with the problem: (1) Estimate Lorenz curves using parametric models for income distributions, and (2) Combine empirical estimation with a parametric (robust) estimation of the upper tail of the distribution using the Pareto mode...

Modelling Lorenz Curves: robust and semi-parametric issues

Modelling Lorenz curves (LC) for stochastic dominance comparisons is central to the analysis of income distribution. It is conventional to use non-parametric statistics based on empirical income cumulants which are in the construction of LC and other related second-order dominance criteria. However, although attractive because of its simplicity and its apparent flexibility, this approach suffer...

Robust Explicit/Multi–parametric Model Predictive Control for Box-Constrained Linear Dynamic Systems ⋆

Robust explicit/multi-parametric controllers are designed for constrained, linear discrete–time systems with box-constrained states and inputs, involving uncertainty in the left–hand side (LHS) of the Model Predictive Control (MPC) optimization model. Based on previous results, this work presents a new algorithm that features: (i) a dynamic programming reformulation of the MPC optimization, (ii...
